COVID INFORMATION

CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS

The Victorian Premier has announced an easing of COVID-19 restrictions, which allows for outdoor swimming pools to open with limits of 30 people per area for exercise purposes.

This means we will be opening our main swimming pool (50m) for 36 people with all lanes open (max 6 people per lane). Our kiosk will be open for basic supplies and toilets will be accessible. We hope to receive confirmation for more access to the facility as restrictions continue to ease.

What is available?

  • Lap swimming for exercises purposes only
  • Kiosk for water bottles and goggles
  • Toilets

What will remain closed?

  • Water slide
  • Toddler pool
  • Basketball area
  • Change rooms & showers
  • Accessibility hoist

Children

The Victorian Govt guidelines limit the use of the facility at this time for exercise purposes and therefore children will only be permitted to use the facility for lap swimming only and not recreation.

Before visiting the facility, we ask that you carefully read our Conditions of Entry below.

Have questions? See our Frequently Asked Questions section for more information.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

To protect everyone who visits the Pines Forest Aquatic Centre, we have implemented strict conditions of entry. These are essential to ensure our facility remains safe, clean and open!

Terms of entry

  • Face masks remain mandatory when you cannot keep 1.5 meters apart outdoors and all the time indoors, therefore we ask that your face masks are still in place as you queue to enter the facility and in the change rooms (unless a medical exemption applies).
  • If you are feeling unwell (any symptoms) please do not visit the facility, stay home and get tested.
  • Every person (contractors, employees, patrons, delivery drivers etc.) who visits the facility is required to undertake some basic practices like disinfecting with sanitiser, being reminded of the 1.5-metre social distancing and being asked about any flu-like symptoms.
  • All visitors must have their name and contact details recorded either via your online booking or upon entry for contact tracing.
  • Practise social distancing when in close, shared spaces like toilets. Follow the markers placed around the facility to maintain a safe distance.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, please do not visit the facility for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.
  • The above entry requirements happen every time a person visits the facility, even if they have just left for a short period.

Visiting the facility
During this first opening period, we require all visitors to book and pre-pay for their sessions online. Walk-ins will be available, but we encourage all visitors to please book online to avoid missing out.

On the day and time of your booking, you will be required to:

Step 1

Provide evidence of your booking and payment.

Step 2

We will check you in online.

Step 3

We will ask you a series of questions about your health.

Step 4

You will then be granted access to the facility. Please sanitise your hands on the way inside.

Step 5

Enjoy your lap swimming, respecting social distancing at all time. Note – drinking fountains are not in use so please bring your own bottle.

Step 6

Please vacate the facility before the end of your time slot to allow the next person to enter and start their session.

Please arrive on time
The gate will be open to enter at the start time of your session and closed 15 minutes later to allow our staff time to conduct cleaning. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your session you will lose your booking.

Everyone recorded
Anyone who enters the facility will need to provide us with their name and contact details. This is vital for tracking should a case of COVID-19 be discovered. We also strongly recommend all visitors to have downloaded for Government’s COVID-Safe App. To do this please visit: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/covidsafe-app

Health checks
Anyone who visits the facility, including members, contractors and our team, will be asked questions about their current health before each visit to confirm they are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, nor have they come in contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms. They will also be asked to hand sanitise prior to entry.

Face coverings
As per current Victorian Government guidelines, all visitors must wear face masks when you cannot keep 1.5 meters apart outdoors and all the time indoors, therefore we ask that your face masks are still in place as you queue to enter the facility and in the change rooms (unless a medical exemption applies).

Respect social distancing at all times
So we can all give each other enough space, physical distancing cues will be marked on the floor throughout entire facility. Please pay attention to all this signage and read our Pool Etiquette section below.

Cash vs Card
We ask that, wherever possible, payments be made via card. We would much prefer you to use tap and go or card if that option is available to you.

Kiosk
On initial opening, our kiosk will be open for water and limited swim equipment (goggles and swim caps). We ask that you please pay via tap and go, if you have this option available to you.

Centre exit
Please vacate the facility before the end of your time slot to allow the next person to enter and swim! Toilets are accessible, but you need to have used this and be exited from site before the end of your time slot. This allows time for cleaning in between visits.

After your visit
If you contract COVID-19 we ask you to alert us immediately via email to info@pinesfrankston.com.au should you test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of your last visit.

CLEANING PROCESSES

Cleaning protocols
In addition to existing continuous cleaning protocols, our team will be wiping high touch point surfaces regularly and cleaning the facility at least once per day. Due to limited capacity, our onsite team members will be fully trained in carrying out these cleaning protocols.

Cleaning processes
We want to ensure the Pines remains a safe and enjoyable environment for our entire community. Our new cleaning processes are in addition to our already recognised high standards of health, safety, and cleanliness.

Along with following all Victorian Government guidelines, and in addition to existing continuous cleaning protocols and the changes mentioned above, we are doing everything in our control to protect you and our community, including:

  • We are exceeding the current guidelines from the Australian Department of Health and Safework Australia,
  • Cleaning checklists to be completed hourly,
  • Medical-grade, EPA-registered disinfectants will be used for all continuous and deep-cleaning processes,
  • Hand sanitisers and antibacterial wipes are available around the facility,
  • COVID-19 and hygiene training for all staff,
  • Plus, the entire facility has had a rigorous clean prior to reopening.
